Advertising on Thumbandhammer.com
Paid advertising (banners, text)
Advertising proposals are welcome and will be considered on a case by case basis, provided that the advertising is relevant to the content of the website. No "permanent" advertising will be accepted. Maximum length of any agreement shall not exceed 1 year but may be extended beyond the original term. I reserve the right to review all potential advertising and targeted sites before a final agreement is reached.
Text Links will be considered provided that they are relevant to the topic of the page. Please be aware that it may take several emails before an agreement on the final placement and wording of such links can be achieved. (I have high standards in this department).
Articles (containing one or two text links) relevant to the subject matter of the website will be considered on a case by case basis. I reserve the right to format the article to fit the "look and feel" of the website. I also reserve the right to edit the article for grammar. Please contact the webmaster for further details.
Banner advertising will be considered for a flat rate fee. Please contact the webmaster for details.
Please submit your proposal via the form at http://thumbandhammer.com/contact.html.
Reciprocal linking, 3-way linking, and other forms of link exchange
As a general rule, ThumbandHammer.com does not participate in link exchanges for the sole purpose of Search Engine Optimization. Link directories and link farms are no longer accepted forms of website promotion and are known to actually hurt the Page Rank of the websites they list.. However, if you have a website that you feel will be of interest or benefit to the visitors of ThumbandHammer.com, you may bring it to my attention and I will consider promoting it either on my blog or within the general content of my site. No back links are required, but a similar quality link back to my site would certainly be appreciated.
Three-way linking is the practice of providing a link to this site on Site #1 in exchange for this site providing a link to Site #2. The theory is that this creates what appear to be one-way links that carry more weight in the eyes of search engines, resulting in higher placement. I will not participate in such an arrangement solely for SEO purposes.

Replacing a screen
door on the garage with a steel entry door required installing a completely
new frame.
A 24 inch door
on a five foot wide closet just wasn't practical. Widening the doorway
and installing bifold doors allowed full use of the closet space.
A wood fence with
an uncommon design. How to build a fence using as few screws and nails
as possible.
A bathroom
makeover on a budget. Sure, elements may still be stuck in the fifties,
but they are easier to live with. Besides, you never know when peach and
blue tile will be back in style!
A complete
gut and remodel of a subterranean living space from start to finish.
How an ill-fitting
switch plate led me to gut a room to the studs.
The old deck
railing was too short so I replaced it. The new stairs and railing are
sturdy and look good.
A
temporary fix for a water damaged bathroom wall. It ain't pretty, but
it prevented further damage until we could afford a complete remodel a
few years later.
The second floor
was already finished when we moved in, but improper insulation and electrical
issues led me to completely gut it and start over from scratch. Properly
finishing the attic in a one and a half storey house..
How we rebuilt
our house from the inside out after some bad DIY by the previous owner
compromised the structure.
Complete professional kitchen remodel that addresses all the design problems of the old kitchen.
